Total knee replacement is a type of surgical procedure in which a damaged knee joint is replaced with an artificial joint made of metal, plastic or ceramic material. The main objective of the surgery is to provide relief in the pain, improve the movement of the knee. To perform and try to implement normal knee activity in a patient suffering from severe arthritis or knee related problems that cannot be cured by non surgical methods.

Total hip replacement is a surgical procedure in which a damaged and dislocated hip joint is replaced with an artificial joint made of metal, plastic or ceramic material. The main objectives of the surgery is to reduce pain, improve movement and activity, and provide normal hip activity in patients suffering from arthritis or hip related problems which cannot be cured by non-surgical methods.

Recovery from this procedure may take a few weeks or a few months, depending on the condition of the individual patient.
